The Tranquebar Console Table is an collectible design piece that presents the rich craft heritage of the Tamil Nadu region in South India  and Calyah’s new Nordic maximalism. Renowned designer Boris Berlin worked in close collaboration with master craftsman Mahdevan and his artisan community to develop the Tranquebar hand carved collectible pieces. The tall, hand-carved granite stem of the Tranquebar Console Table is beautifully complemented by the light and elegant glass top. The engraved carved pattern creates an alluring focal point that invites your eyes on a journey through traditions and cultures so rich in detail that there will always be something new to discover.

The limited edition (25) Tranquebar Console Table is hand crafted to order and comes with a certification of authentication registered with Verisart on the blockchain.

Hand carved in Tamil Nadu, India and assembled in the E.U.

Crafted from Black Galaxy Diabas granite stone sourced locally to the stonemasons from government regulated quarry. The toughened glass and stainless steel bracket is produced, assembled, and shipped in Europe.

Returns and exchanges

Each piece of granite is unique with natural variations in the pattern. There may be sand holes, glass veins and porosities on the surface. All of this occurs naturally and is part of the individual character of the object. The surface of the stone is hand polished according to the designers specification. The hand carved pattern engraved into the stone is brushed with natural coconut oil to bring out the dark tones in the granite to match the colour of the polished surface. Over time these areas will require a light brushing with natural oil to maintain the dark tones.
